Upon request from physician, per gradient diffusion strip (e.g., E-test strip) to per organism may be added to the non-routine minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) testing using Gradient Diffusion.
Susceptibility interpreted based on CLSI MIC breakpoints. In the absence of breakpoints, only MIC value will be reported.
For susceptibility testing of antibiotics that are not included in the routine panel, usually in the context of multi-drug resistance (MDR) or drug allergy. Consultation with ID (infectious diseases) physician or ID pharmacists is recommended.
