Sample Requirement:
(a) Sputum, nasopharyngeal aspirate or endo-tracheal tube aspirate: At least 1 mL of undiluted sample in a sterile leak-proof screw-capped container.(b) Throat swab or tracheal swab: Use only Dacron-tipped swab. Send dry in sterile container or swab sheath.Sputum is the preferred sample compared to throat swab.
