The Anti-SARS-CoV-2 S test is a quantitative determination of antibodies (including IgG) to the SARS-CoV-2 spike (s) receptor binding domain. The electrochemiluminescence immunoassay “ECLIA” is intended as an aid to assess the adaptive humoral immune response to the SARS-CoV-2 S protein. The Elecsys Anti‑SARS‑CoV‑2 S assay shows good agreement with direct and surrogate virus neutralization assays. Results are not intended to be used as the sole basis for patient management decisions. Test results should be interpreted in conjunction with clinical observations, patient history, The ordering Doctor has to state the indications and purpose for the use of this test clearly on the order form. This test is NOT to be used for primary diagnosis of COVID-19 infection, RT-PCR remains the only accepted primary test method for diagnosis and confirmation of COVID-19 at this present time. The use of COVID-19 serology based tests should follow the most updated directives issued by MOH.
A dedicated SST tube is required. The tube cannot be used for the processing of other test orders. Please pack the tube separately from other clinical samples. Samples are to be double-bagged.
